Counter-Terrorism Analyst, U.S. CISA Chief to Keynote Dec. 6 CPS

Roger Cressey, a cybersecurity and counter-terrorism expert who served and advised in three presidential administrations, and Kiersten E. Todt, chief of staff of the federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), will take the stage to keynote the Dec. 6 Content Protection Summit (CPS) in Los Angeles.

Their discussion — “Evolving Threats and Where We’re Headed: A National Perspective” — will serve as a follow-on from their virtual keynote at the April NAB Show, offering an in-person update on the grand myriad of threats being directed against media and entertainment industry businesses and customers. .. and how we are evolving in our responses.

As the chief of staff, Todt is right in the middle of the battle. Cressy will be the session host.

Todt is responsible for the planning, allocation of resources, and development of long-range objectives in support of the CISA’s goals and milestones, along with providing strategic vision, guidance, and direction to the CISA director. Before CISA, Todt was managing director of the nonprofit Cyber Readiness Institute (CRI), which she co-founded in 2017 with the CEOs of Mastercard, Microsoft, PSP Partners, and the retired CEO of IBM. She was previously the non-resident scholar at the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Cyber Law, Policy, and Security, and CEO of Liberty Group Ventures, LLC (LGV).

Todt most recently served in the federal government in 2016 as the executive director of President Obama’s independent, bipartisan Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity.

Cressey, meanwhile, is the go-to counter-terrorism analyst for NBC and the founder and CEO of personal safety organization Stiletto Agency and the founder and former president of the Good Harbor consulting group. He’s served in senior positions under presidents Clinton and George W. Bush. The former member of the United States National Security Council staff, he also served as a foreign policy advisor to President Obama.

The CPS event will be the premiere gathering of the top security and asset protection minds in the M&E industry.
