WiTH Volunteers Help DIY Girls in Engineering Camp

On July 18, volunteers with Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH) had an opportunity to help girls with engineering, supporting them in building their planters (cutting, sanding, gluing, clamping, hammering, etc.) during an event hosted by DIY Girls.

The summer camp saw students using power tools to build their own wooden planters, and WiTH sent a contingent to help, with the volunteers prepped day of, on-site, right before the working session begins.

The camp was hosted at Pacoima City Hall.

Additionally, DIY Girls is outlining volunteer opportunities for the new school year, with an anticipated guest speaker workshop opportunities at elementary and middle schools from Nov. 6-16.

Once programs are finalized with school partners, DIY will have specific locations and times to share for partners to choose from.
